The year before kindergarten goes by fast. Our Pre-K Classroom is for children from 4 years to 5+ years, and it’s where everything they’ve been learning comes together.
Here at Bright Beginnings, our teachers are passionately dedicated to making sure your child is cared for in a nurturing and educational environment. We focus on social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth, giving children the tools to become confident individuals and setting the foundation for a bright future and a lifelong love of learning. Confident, curious, ready
Four- and five-year-olds are ready for bigger projects and longer conversations. They tell stories, notice letters and numbers all around them, build, sort, count, ask big questions and love having a job to do. Our curriculum grows with your child and keeps learning hands-on and fun, through exploring and imagining. Teachers share monthly curriculum plans in your child’s cubby so you can keep the conversation going at home.
The social skills that matter most
Much of what helps a child thrive in kindergarten is social: taking turns, following directions, working through a disagreement, and feeling good about trying something new. Our teachers use positive, consistent guidance and help children use their words to solve problems. Each class helps write its own classroom rules, so children learn to take ownership of how their group works together.
Independence every day
Pre-K children take on more for themselves, and our teachers build self-help skills into the day. Children in care more than four hours who eat a meal at the center also take part in supervised tooth brushing after lunch (families may opt out).
Knowing how your child is doing
We complete progress reports and age-appropriate screenings periodically, as Massachusetts regulations require, plus additional screenings and help with outside referrals when needed. Your daily sheet shares your child’s achievements, challenges and interests every day.
A full day that works for families
We’re open 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and Pre-K is a full-day program offered on 2-day, 3-day and 4/5-day weekly schedules. See our Rates page. Many families can pay with pre-tax dollars through an employer dependent care FSA, up to $7,500 federally in 2026.
Please note: Bright Beginnings serves children from infants (8 weeks) through Pre-K. We do not offer school-age, before-school or after-school care.
