Toddler Program in Carver, MA

Toddlers are on the move, and they want to do everything themselves. Our Toddler Classrooms are built for this busy, curious stage, for children from 15 months to 2 years 9 months.

At Bright Beginnings, our teachers are passionately dedicated to making sure your child is cared for in a nurturing and educational environment. Our curriculum grows with your child, and we encourage exploring and imagining so learning is fun.

Big growth in a short time

Between their first and third birthdays, children add new words almost daily, learn to climb, run and stack, and start to play side by side with friends. Our toddler teachers support all of it: social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth. Days mix hands-on play, songs and stories, time to move, and plenty of practice with simple self-help skills like washing hands and putting things away.

Learning to get along

Sharing and taking turns are new for toddlers. Our guidance is positive, consistent and based on each child’s needs. Teachers help little ones use words instead of actions to solve problems, recognize and reinforce good choices, and redirect gently. We never use corporal punishment, harsh words, or take away food or outdoor time.

Rest time

Every child in care for more than four hours has a rest period, as Massachusetts requires. Toddlers each get their own mat, and families send a crib-size sheet and blanket. A favorite stuffed animal is welcome. Rest time is generally between 1 and 3 p.m., and a drawstring nap bag goes home at the end of the week for washing.

Diapering and toilet learning

We check and change diapers every two hours and whenever needed. When your child is at least two and showing signs of readiness, and you’ve started toilet learning at home for a week, our teachers will keep it going at school in a relaxed, encouraging way.

Staying in touch

Each day you’ll get a daily sheet covering meals, sleep and toileting, along with your child’s achievements and interests. Teachers also use cubbies to share reminders and monthly curriculum plans.

Moving up to preschool

When your toddler is ready, a two-week transition (longer if needed) helps them settle into the Preschool classroom, with teachers working together and with you.

Tuition

Toddler care comes in 2-day, 3-day and 4/5-day weekly schedules. See our Rates page. You may be able to pay with pre-tax dollars through an employer dependent care FSA, up to $7,500 federally in 2026.
